Scholarship Selection Criteria

KSF Scholarships are based on various primary criteria. While financial distress is an important consideration, other factors such resilience, demonstrated ability to overcome adversity, resourcefulness and active participation in extra-curriculum and community activities are factored in determining ones ranking. Written communication skills as well as clearly defined career direction is deemed as a plus. KSF is seeking well rounded motivated students who have shown potential of becoming model citizens who will ultimately contribute to their communities.

Scholarship Applications Handling Procedure

When applications are received at our head quarters in Houston, they are immediately copied and assigned a unique index code. This code is entered in a computer generated register alongside the name of the applicant. From this point forward each application will only be referred to by the unique code as the applicant’s name is blacked out. This step is designed to eliminate any form of bias from the selection process. The coded applications are then copied and circulated to the evaluation committee across the United States. Each member of the committee reviews each application and ranks each candidate based on the aforementioned guideline along with their individual judgment. Finally, a conference call is conducted during which the winners are selected. Our goal is to eventually award each qualifying applicant with a scholarship.
